We start the demolition phase by removing the existing stair treads.
Here, we’re building a substantial skirt board for the new staircase.
After installing the skirt board and risers, the new staircase starts to take shape.
Handrail bracket mock-ups are hand-built with wood, then test-fitted on the staircase posts.
Once the brackets and handrails are perfect, stainless steel brackets are custom-made and installed.
Applying stain to the maple posts will create beautiful contrast (the brackets are carefully taped off).
After our final touch-up and cable adjustments, the staircase becomes a work of art.
